Russia accidentally bombs its own village

A Russian governor has ordered nine houses to be repaired in a village accidentally bombed by one of Russia's warplanes.

An abnormal unloading of aircraft ammunition was carried out yesterday over Petropavlovka in the southern Voronezh region, the Russian state news agency RIA reported the defense ministry as saying.

A school, an art center and an administrative building were damaged along with residences, according to regional governor Alexander Gusev.

"No resident will be left without help, we will support everyone as much as we can ," the governor said, SkyNews reported.

No one was killed, but four people were treated for minor injuries and residents had access to psychological support, he said. Owners of five damaged cars and a tractor will receive compensation, he added. Authorities did not say what caused the incident.
