The Gjirokastra Prosecutor's Office has seized a hotel in the "18 Shtatori" neighborhood, after its owner built it without a permit.

The building, which was adapted as a hotel, despite the decision of the Inspectorate of Territorial Protection, Municipality of Gjirokastra to suspend unauthorized works, the owner continued with the completion of the hotel construction, also falsifying the expertise through another citizen.

Preliminary investigations suspect that citizen RS influenced citizen AD to compile a false expert report, according to which the work performed was only of an internal nature. Under these conditions, at the request of the Prosecutor's Office, appropriate security measures were also imposed.

The Gjirokastra Prosecutor's Office has imposed a preventive seizure on the hotel, while for the owner, a citizen with the initials RS, it has requested the security measure 'prison arrest', and for the expert, 'house arrest'.

The Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction in Gjirokastra imposed the measure 'Arrest in prison' on citizen RS suspected of the criminal offense 'Illegal construction' for profit purposes provided for in Article 199/a/4 of the Criminal Code and the measure 'House arrest' on citizen AD suspected of the criminal offense 'False expertise' for profit purposes provided for in Article 309 p.2 of the Criminal Code.

Likewise, within the framework of the investigations on criminal proceedings no. 556 dated 03.11.2023, the Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction in Gjirokastra has imposed a preventive seizure on property no. 24-108-ND/1+1-2, zk. 8541, surface area 247 m2, adapted as a hotel, located in the "18 Shtatori" neighborhood in Gjirokastra, owned by the RS citizen, who, despite the decision of the Inspectorate of Territorial Protection, Municipality of Gjirokastra to suspend unauthorized works, has continued with the completion of the construction of the hotel.
