Trump appeals the court's decision on financial fraud

Former US President Donald Trump has appealed a court decision that forces him to pay $454 million after he was found guilty in a lawsuit filed against him for exaggerating the value of his wealth and properties to secure conditions better credit.

Trump has asked an appeals court to overturn the decision made by Judge Arthur Engoron on February 16.

In addition to the $354.9 million payment, Trump has also been restricted from doing business in New York state.

These punitive measures risk creating financial difficulties for Trump as he campaigns to win the Republican nomination for the November presidential election in the United States.
