30 minutes in the Special Prosecutor's Office, Benet Beci 'shut

After about 30 minutes, the mayor of Shkodra Municipality, Benet Beci, left the premises of the Special Prosecutor's Office, SPAK.

He was asked by journalists why he appeared at SPAK and if it is true that he submitted his resignation, but he did not give a concrete answer. Beci said briefly "I will speak at the right moment".

Beci was also asked by journalists if it is true that there is a news circulating that he has submitted his resignation to Prime Minister Edi Rama, while he again refused to answer. " Yes, no... ", were Beci's words.

We remind you that Benet Beci was announced as the mayor of Shkodra in the 2023 elections.

Beci was declared the winner in the May 14 elections in front of the democratic rival Bardh Spahia, becoming the first SP representative to sit in the mayor's chair, since in the last 32 years Shkodra was run by democratic mayors.

Before becoming mayor, Benet Beci held the position of Executive Director for 13 years at the Albanian Development Fund. Benet Beci also directed the Albanian Electric Power Corporation.
