 Will he run for Tirana Mayor? Tabaku: My battle is elsewhere

Democratic Party MP Jorida Tabaku stated that after the arrest of Erion Veliaj, the Tirana municipality should hold emergency elections.

Asked in an interview with Euronews Albania if she would consider running for mayor of this municipality, Tabaku said that her job is in Parliament and she sees her job as deputy mayor of Tirana as a thing of the past.

"The Municipality of Tirana must go to early elections immediately, because in addition to the legal standard, there is also a moral one, the mayor must ultimately face justice without any kind of power. I see myself in parliament, the Municipality of Tirana is something of the past for me, it is a very beautiful experience working as deputy mayor. As long as we have the opportunity, I will work for the citizens of Tirana, but for me the battle is already in parliament ," said Tabaku.
