The chairman of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, has published a statement after the inauguration of the NATO military base in Kuçovo.

Berisha, in the distributed statement, writes that PD unreservedly supports Albania's cooperation with NATO.

The chief democrat emphasizes that the PD remains committed to respecting Albania's political and military obligations towards the Alliance.

"Today, the NATO air base in Albania was inaugurated in Kuçovo, after the reconstruction of the Airport. The Democratic Party, as the first political force in ex-communist Europe that requested the country's membership in NATO and that 15 years ago with deep and multifaceted reforms made Albania a member of NATO, welcomes this important event for the security of the country and the Alliance of North Atlantic.

The Democratic Party guarantees NATO that today and in the future it unreservedly supports the cooperation with the North Atlantic Alliance and remains determined to respect all political and military obligations of Albania towards it" , the statement says.
