The session for the mandate of Xhaçka, Bardhi in the Constitutional Court: the Assembly was challenged and declared itself sovereign

The session for the mandate of Xhaçka, Bardhi in the Constitutional

The Constitutional Court is holding a session today to examine the lawsuit of the DP regarding the mandate of Olta Xhaçka.

The head of the PD parliamentary group, Gazment Bardhi, explained to the jury the reasons why it was decided to pursue this case, while adding that the Assembly, by not implementing the first decision, challenged the Constitutional Court.

"About two years ago, our group submitted a request to the Assembly to review the incompatibility of Xhaçka's mandate. After the delay, for the first time a decision taken by the CJK has been challenged by the Assembly by declaring itself sovereign over the decisions of the CJC.

Xhaçka's mandate is almost ending by itself. We were in two minds whether we should come to the GJK or leave the shame of this case to the majority. We decided that we should come because the challenge to the authority of the dignity of the CJK is a matter for every legislator who has sworn on the Constitution", he said.
