Topalli calls on diaspora: Physically deliver the envelope to DHL offices

The political leader of the diaspora in the Democratic Party, Jozefina Topalli, declared today that the contribution of Albanian emigrants is crucial for the May 11 elections.

In a press conference, she emphasized that the diaspora's vote is an act of conscience and justice towards a regime that has expelled them from the country.

Topalli called on Albanians to physically send the envelopes to the DHL office.

"The diaspora is contributing to what will be called the 2025 rotation, where with their vote they are actually meeting their conscience, but at the same time they have the opportunity to strike back at the regime that expelled them and removed them from the country in a very civil and strongly political way, with their vote.

I want to thank each of them for their support, for their vote, for their commitment, asking them for one last sacrifice. I did it yesterday, I will do it today, and I will do it continuously, as long as the diaspora has encountered various problems during this period.

Despite the fact that DHL has a duty to go and pick up the voting envelope after they vote, I invite every Albanian, wherever they are, in Greece, Italy, Germany, America, or any other country, to make the ultimate sacrifice and go to the nearest DHL office to deliver the envelope.

As you (the media) have reported, and I thank you for this, there were some problems such as not going to the appropriate address to collect the envelope as per the agreement.

There have been cases where the ballot has been missing, there have been cases where the ballot has been found in front of the ballot box or in the yard, or it has been taken by a neighbor. With dozens of envelopes, and this is not legal.

It has happened since the envelopes were sent out, that there have been duplicates, and many other cases have also occurred.

I take this opportunity to call on the CEC to ask DHL to fulfill their legal and logistical obligations.
Violating the deadlines and standards set by law is a serious violation of the vote of Albanians living outside the borders of Albania and would thus completely violate the integrity of these elections.

Having said this, I want to reiterate once again my thanks and gratitude to the Albanians who are massively voting, sacrificing, and even going to DHL offices despite not being obligated to, and with their vote, with their envelope that they are bringing to Albania, they will certainly overthrow the regime that excluded and expelled them from their country.

Perhaps there are two key moments that will make a big difference, first the diaspora and second the women, who never accept being called "chyryk" by the father of their children.

We actually see with positivity the voting that is happening everywhere in the world and this requires recognition and is a historic moment.

In fact, Albanians are voting in a strong act of justice and a historic act to reverse the expulsion that has been inflicted on 1 million Albanians over the past 12 years.

"If we do not stop the emigration and deportation of Albanians, in a very short period of time, we will return as the largest asylum for the elderly that will exist in the world, and we Albanians within the borders of Albania but also those outside the borders of Albania can never allow ourselves to lose our country and nation, due to cynicism, arrogance or the fear that someone has of giving up power," said Topalli.
