Wasteful spending! Renzi on the migrant center in Lezha: It should be turned

Italian MP Matteo Renzi has come up with a concrete proposal regarding the migrant center that is being planned to be built in Albania with funding from the Italian government.

He has criticized this project as an unnecessary expense of almost one billion euros and has suggested an alternative solution.

His proposal is for the planned center to be converted into a prison for around 2,000 Albanian citizens convicted in Italy.

This would help, according to him, in reducing the overcrowding of Italian prisons and reducing costs, avoiding further expenses for keeping Albanian convicts in the Italian justice system.

The opposition must make proposals, it cannot criticize. So I want to do my part for the immigrant center in Albania. Meloni is spending almost a billion euros on a project that does not stand.

That migrant center will never be built. But now the money has been spent. My proposal is simple: let's place in the migrant center the approximately two thousand Albanian prisoners who are currently in Italian prisons.

 This is how we reduce overcrowding. Let's reduce costs. And let's stop keeping carabinieri and police in Albania: they serve in Italy, these agents, they serve on our streets.
