Accident in Greece! Train with 45 passengers collides with a truck in Chalcis

A railway accident was recorded this Monday in Greece, where a passenger train collided with a truck in the Kalkida area.

The incident occurred on the Halkida-Athens suburban railway line, specifically in Vathy of Avlida, near the Naval Shipyards.

At the time of the collision, there were 45 passengers on board. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.

According to preliminary information, the truck is suspected of having crossed an automatic railway crossing without respecting the signals, which led to its collision with the train in the rear.

The collision caused material damage to both the train and the truck. Greek authorities have launched investigations to fully clarify the circumstances of the accident.
