The cause of the murder of 41-year-old Asim Gjoni by his father, 74-year-old Hekuran Gjoni, has been revealed.

According to information from the investigation group, the conflict was over property issues. Testimonies were taken from all members of the Gjoni family regarding the incident, who spoke about the incident that occurred in the 74-year-old's apartment.

They lived in a three-story private apartment in the Kodra e Prifti area, where the father of three sons and two daughters, Hekuran Gjoni, after marrying off all his children, had divided the house by giving each floor to each of his three sons by deed of donation.

He had donated the first floor to his son Asim and the two floors above to his other two sons, but the first floor was divided into two entrances, in one Asim lived with his wife and two children and in the other half his father and mother, a part which Asim would inherit.

But for a month now, Hekurani's little daughter, who had been divorced several times and had gone to live with her parents in half of the first-floor apartment, had also been living with her parents, and had asked her father Hekurani several times to give her half of the first floor.

The first signs of a family dispute had begun three days before the serious incident, when the 74-year-old had started asking his sons for the house papers, which Asim initially refused to give him.

Regarding the dynamics of the crime on the day of the incident, there were 4 people in the apartment, the perpetrator Hekurani, Asimi's mother, his sister and the victim. While Asimi's wife and two children were not in the apartment on the day of the incident. Asimi had just returned from work after working in construction and had gone to his parents to greet them and there he found his two parents and sister eating bread.

Then the debate about the property and the half of the house that the sister was demanding was reopened. After a verbal and then physical conflict, 74-year-old Hekuran Gjoni took the bread knife and killed his son.

Initially, it was said that the perpetrator and the victim were drunk based on the testimony of the victim's sister, who did not tell the truth and attempted to hide the cause of the incident, but it turned out that the victim was not drunk and did not consume alcohol and was a calm and hardworking man who supported his family with his construction work.

Meanwhile, as for the perpetrator of the crime, based on the testimonies of family members and relatives, Hekuran Gjoni was an alcoholic and became violent with his family members whenever he consumed alcohol.

Meanwhile, Asimi's younger sister, who was also looking for a house on the day of the incident, was injured and received treatment at the hospital. She then left and never returned to the apartment, nor did she even attend her brother's funeral.
