The Council of Europe informs that a team of experts will conduct an inspection in Albania on December 5 and 6, 2023, to evaluate our country's anti-doping program, practices and policies within the framework of the implementation of the Anti-Doping Convention.
The team met with representatives of the public authorities responsible for sport in Albania, including those from the Ministries of Education and Sports, Health, Internal Affairs as well as the Albanian National Anti-Doping Agency (ALB NADO), sports federations and the Committee Albanian Olympian as well as representatives of law enforcement agencies and other bodies involved in the fight against doping.
This team included: Michael Petrou from the Anti-Doping Authority of Cyprus as the leader of the group), Michal Rynkoëski from the Polish Anti-Doping Agency-POLADA, Yasemin Gödek from the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Turkey as well as a member of the Group Secretariat of Anti-Doping Convention Monitoring.
The findings, recommendations and best practices identified during the visit will be transmitted in 2024 to the Albanian authorities for their implementation.
The evaluations are part of the task of the Monitoring Group: every year it analyzes the anti-doping systems of the States Parties to the Convention through a questionnaire and evaluation visits.
