The Supreme Court is expected to elect the eighth member of the Constitutional Court in September.

In a press release, the Supreme Court clarifies that the Judicial Appointments Council forwarded on August 15 the approved report and the list with accompanying documentation of the candidates who competed for the vacant position of the Constitutional Court, announced by the Supreme Court.  

" The Judicial Appointments Council forwarded to the Supreme Court on 15.08.2022, the approved report and the list with the accompanying documentation of the candidates who competed for the vacant seat of the Constitutional Court, announced by the Supreme Court on 21.09.2019, re-announced on 19.04.2019, re-announced on 03.06.2021, as well as re-announced on 15.11.2021.

The Deputy President of the Supreme Court, Sokol Sadushi, has decided to call the Special Meeting of Supreme Court judges, to elect the member of the Constitutional Court, on Monday, 12.09.2022, at 10:00 a.m. Up.

The Constitutional Court consists of 9 members and currently, it has only seven members.
