The competition for General Director of the Guard of the Republic is open

The Ministry of the Interior has opened the competition for the new General Manager of the Guard of the Republic. Interested candidates must submit the application request, as well as the accompanying documentation for the general and special criteria, by June 26, 2024.

In support of point 4 of article 102 of the Constitution of the Republic of Albania, point 1 of article 17 of law no. 33/2021 "For the Guard of the Republic of Albania", amended, as well as the Instruction of the Minister of the Interior no. 102, dated 5.6.2024 "On determining the rules and procedures for the selection of the candidate for the General Director of the Guard of the Republic", the Ministry of the Interior announces the call for applications for the position of the General Director of the Guard of the Republic.

General criteria:

a) have only Albanian citizenship;

b) have full capacity to act;

c) not having received the status of the defendant for committing a criminal offense, or not having taken any measure of personal security against him;

ç) there should be no conflict of interest in the exercise of the duty;

d) not having been dismissed from work previously for disciplinary reasons and not having a disciplinary measure in force at the time of application.

Special criteria:

dh) have at least 10 years of work experience in the field of order or security;

e) having completed the second cycle of higher education in the field of order or security;

ë) not to be convicted by a final court decision for committing a criminal offense;

f) be equipped with a certificate of reliability;

g) to be in good health and able to perform the task.

DOCUMENTATION

1. Written request of the applicant to the Minister of the Interior to express interest in the position of General Director of the Guard of the Republic.

2. The application must be complete in order to be considered. The evaluation is done on the basis of the submitted documents.

3. The written request is accompanied by the documents found in the announcement.

ASSESSMENT

Within 45 days from the end of the deadline for submission of expressions of interest, the Special Commission performs the preliminary evaluation, in order to verify the fulfillment of the general and special criteria. At the end of the preliminary assessment, the Commission draws up a list of candidates who meet the required criteria and of applicants who do not meet these conditions based on the documentation submitted by the applicant and the additional documentation collected by the Commission.

The Commission organizes a hearing with the candidates and notifies them at least 10 days before the hearing.

The members of the Commission evaluate all the information made available by the candidates, the documentation collected and the information received during the hearing and submit to the Minister the ranking of the candidates, together with the written evaluations, for each candidate, in accordance with the instruction of the Minister of the Interior no. 102, dated 5.6.2024.
