The lot is drawn / Sokol Binaj is elected the head of KED, who are the members

The presidency held today 'live' the drawing of lots for the selection of new members of the Judicial Appointments Council.

Part of the names of the lottery were members from the Constitutional Court, the Supreme Court, the General Prosecutor's Office, the Courts of Appeal, the Appellate Prosecutions and the Administrative Courts.

Judge Sokol Binaj will be the new president of KED, who will replace Elvis Pupen. He is a judge in the Supreme Court. He has previously been a judge in the Serious Crimes Appeal and the Special Court Appeal.

The selected members are:

Sokol Binaj- From the High Court, permanent member of KED and chairman

Marsida Xhaferllari- From the Constitutional Court, permanent member

Elsa Toska- From the Constitutional Court, permanent member

Altin Binaj- From the Constitutional Court, alternate member

Sander Simoni- From the High Court, alternate member

Anila Leka- From the General Prosecution, permanent member

Thoma Jano- From the General Prosecutor's Office, substitute member in KED

Edlira Petri- From the Courts of Appeal, permanent members

Enton Dhimitri- From the Courts of Appeal, permanent members

Ridvan Hado- From the Courts of Appeal, alternate member

KED is a collegial body with 9 members and a 1-year term. The remarriage of KED will be for the whole of 2021. This institution has a key role in assessing the professional and moral criteria of candidates for members of the Constitutional Court.
