The midfielder of Albanian origin, Granit Xhaka, has been nominated for the prestigious Ballon d'Or award.

This is the first time that an Albanian is part of the list of candidates for this important award in international football. 

The "Golden Ball" awarding ceremony will be held on October 28 in Paris, where well-known personalities from the world of football will gather to honor the best of the year.
