Mark Samson, the 23-year-old who shocked Italy with the macabre crime against 22-year-old Albanian woman, Ilaria Sula, has expressed his desire to apologize to the victim's family in a letter. The news was announced by his lawyer, Fabrizio Gallo.

"He will try to explain the senseless reasons for his actions and begs his mother to be his voice to express his regret and apologize to Ilaria's parents, because he cannot do so at this moment," Gallo said.

Samson admitted to murdering his ex-girlfriend in her apartment in Rome. After the crime, he stuffed her body into a suitcase and dumped it in a suburban area, shocking Italian and Albanian public opinion.

Attorney Gallo, who has taken on the legal defense of the young man, emphasized that his client is willing to cooperate with justice and clarify all the details of the incident, including the possibility of any accomplices.

"If I have to continue my defense mandate, Mark Samson will guarantee me that he will tell the investigators how the event actually happened, because there are still many aspects of this tragedy that need to be clarified. During our conversation this morning, he handed me a letter to Ilaria's parents, who will probably never forgive him, but he wants to try to explain his actions," the lawyer stated.
