KFOR take control of the north? The former KFOR adviser comments on Rama's

Director of the NATO defense college foundation, Alessandro Politi, commented on Edi Rama's statements that KFOR would take control of the north.

In an interview for Euronews Albania, he said that what is new and is the choice of the government of Pristina is that the special units are an uninterrupted presence in the north of Kosovo.

" I think that, at least from the side of Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama, the idea is rather to simplify the crisis response mechanism so that KFOR is not in third position, but at least in second position, in cooperation with the police of Kosovo.

It is clear that the control of border points is the authority of the Kosovo police. It is clear that KFOR is present in the north and will continue to be. What is new and is the choice of the government of Pristina is that the special units are an uninterrupted presence in the north of Kosovo. I would not discuss who is winning and who is losing in this very difficult situation, whether it is Kurti or Vucic. I believe that both have understood that the old way of doing politics no longer works and they must find another way to discuss, to respect the interests of their countries in the first place," said Politi .
