The peaceful citizen protest has entered its ninth day today, transforming into a massive rally with thousands of citizens gathered on the boulevard in front of the Prime Minister's Office in Tirana.

Among the speakers on the podium were two representatives of the Albanian community in exile, coming from the United Kingdom, who expressed their support for the protest and the cause raised.

One of the citizens who spoke from the stage declared that the protest is taking on international proportions through the participation of Albanian immigrants.

"Just like the pearl that has the shell inside, so are you. 2 charters and 50 cars are coming from London. They will march from Rinas to here in the square in front of the Prime Minister's Office," she said, adding that the participation of the diaspora is a sign of the importance of the cause.

According to her, the goal of this civic movement is to call for a change in thinking and public debate.

"How do we think about the new Albania? It starts from new thinking, from new words, not from insults and curses," she declared to the protesters.

The protest continues to take place peacefully, while the increased participation of citizens and the diaspora has brought about a broad mobilization in the capital today.
