The executive director of the Association for Local Autonomy, Adelina Farrici, has shown the areas most at risk of flooding in Albania.

Invited to A2 CNN, Farrici said that apart from Vlora, Lezha and Shkodra remain areas at risk from floods and heavy rains.

"Municipalities must take care, prevent floods, taking precautions. Investments should be targeted where the risk is highest, in order to precede them with an investment, in order to prevent the much greater damages that can be caused as a result of these natural disasters.

Cleaning the drains is said to be, but in fact it is not that simple. This is also due to problems carried over for years. Cleaning should not be left only in moments of emergency, but should be resolved before alarming situations.

If the waterways in Vlora were cleaned and in good condition, the disaster would not be so great. For every municipality such situations should become a lesson, to take measures. We know, we have seen the situation in Shkodër, in Lezhë. In Lezha, the part of the land surface that was always flooded has improved by 50-60%" , said Farrici.
