Footage of the arrest of Tirana Traffic Chief Roven Zeka is published

Footage has been published of the moment when the head of Tirana's Road Traffic Department, Roven Zeka, and the head of the Accidents Sector, Sokol Novaku, arrived at the Tirana Local Police Directorate after executing arrest warrants issued by SPAK.

Official sources indicate that the Police Supervision Agency and the National Bureau of Investigation have gone to execute the arrest warrant against Zeka, who is suspected of involvement in a corruption case. According to the sources, at the moment of execution of the measure, Zeka attempted to run away, but was neutralized and detained by AMP agents.

In addition to Zeka and Novak, Edison Tabaku, a Judicial Police officer, was also arrested. The three police officers are suspected of having demanded and received money from a citizen to favor the case of a road accident in which she was involved.

SPAK has taken over the investigation of the case, while the investigations are expected to reveal further details about the possible network of corruption within the Traffic Police structures.
