Price increase, SMI: Rama to convene parliament today, to remove the circulation

SMI Deputy Chairman Petrit Vasili has called on Prime Minister Edi Rama to convene today urgently the parliament and approve the request for the abolition of two taxes on fuel: the turnover tax and the carbon tax.

In a statement to the media, Vasili said that the government is co-responsible for creating monopolies and raising prices within a few days drastically. According to the SMI, the increase in prices for products and fuels benefits the government and the oligarchs who own the fuel market.

"I call on Edi Rama to immediately approve the proposal of the Socialist Movement for Integration submitted to the Assembly for the abolition of two taxes on oil and gasoline. Turnover tax and carbon tax which aggravate the price of fuel. Edi Rama to convene the Parliament even tonight at dinner as the situation is very serious and he does not wait. The government has been and is responsible and cooperative in creating monopolies in the field of fuel and absolute market control by creating spaces for price speculation at the expense of citizens. From this situation with prices there are two beneficiaries, the government that increases revenues and the oligarchs who own the fuel monopoly. "As far as the price of oil is concerned, the government, as co-responsible for the creation of monopolies, has created and allowed situations where the price moves within a day and within a few hours."said Vasili.

He called on the General Director of the State Police to take responsibility for the behavior of the effectives with yesterday's protesters, where they forcibly accompanied two girls who were protesting.

"I call on the General Director of the State Police, Mr. Gledis Nano, to take responsibility for bringing unidentified blue uniforms and with their faces covered. protests, to stop the shameful violence that has not spared even girls and women and to respond to the crime and traffickers who have turned Albania into the Colombia of Europe. "This pressure on the Albanians from the police and not to turn into a blind tool of Edi Rama and his interests" , concluded Vasili.
