The constitution of the Kosovo Assembly fails for the eighth time

The constitution of the Kosovo Assembly has failed for the eighth time in a row.

Vetëvendosje Movement MP Albulena Haxhiu, for the sixth time, did not receive support for the position of Speaker of Parliament.

This time, it received 54 votes in favor, 44 against, and 3 abstentions. In previous sessions, 57 MPs had voted for it – but this time several LVV MPs were absent.

The constitutive session began on April 15, and in the seven previous sessions, deputies managed to pass only the first two items on the agenda - the approval of the report of the Temporary Committee for the Verification of Mandates and the swearing-in of deputies.
