Kosovo protests for the murder of Liridona

"There is no peace without the safety of women", this is the motto that the collective for Feminist Thought and Action will organize today's protest after the murder of 30-year-old Liridona Ademaj.

" We inform you that this Tuesday, December 5, starting at 18:00, we call a popular protest in the 'Zahir Pajaziti' square in Pristina. We call for organization and action all across Kosovo to gather and say unanimously that there is no peace without the safety of women and demand that gender-based violence and femicide be treated as a national emergency!" , it is stated in the KMVF announcement.

" This week we were informed that a policeman raped a minor in Gjakovë, and a man paid for the murder of his wife in Pristina. According to the Collective for Feminist Thought and Action, gendered violence against girls and women and femicide are not isolated incidents or symptoms of the psychological problems of the perpetrators of these crimes.

The protest will be held in "Zahir Pajaziti" square in Pristina starting at 18:00, reports Klankosova.tv.

" We call for organization and action all across Kosovo to gather and say unanimously that there is no peace without women's safety and demand that gender-based violence and femicide be treated as a national emergency! On Tuesdays, we all come together in the square, and every other day we fight alongside the daughters of women. For safety and freedom for women and girls in Kosovo!"
