Approval of the report for KiE, Osmani: Historic day for Kosovo

The President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, reacted shortly after the Committee for Politics and Democracy of the Council of Europe approved a report recommending the admission of Kosovo as a full member.

"This is a historic day for us, a confirmation of our progress as a state and our commitment to European values," Osmani declared.

" This positive step shows that Kosovo is ready and able to fully participate in the Council of Europe family, sharing the obligations and benefits that come with membership."

The President emphasized that the Government of Kosovo will continue to work with partners and allies to achieve its goal of full inclusion, guaranteeing fair access for all its citizens to the instruments offered by the Council of Europe.

" We will continue to work with allies to ensure that all our citizens have fair access to the instruments of the Council of Europe through the full membership of Kosovo," she added.

The decisive moment is expected to come on April 18, when the report, which recommends Kosovo's membership in the Council of Europe, will be put to a vote before the Parliamentary Assembly.
