The McGonigal scandal and the involvement of Prime Minister Edi Rama continues to be the focus of foreign media.
CNN has dedicated another article to this issue, where it states that officials, but also former FBI officials consider McGonigal's involvement in harming the Albanian opposition more serious than helping the Russian oligarch, Deripaska.
That's because Charles McGonigal took money to lobby against the opposition in 2017, when he was still part of the FBI. We recall that he left the FBI in 2018.
The person who was used as a lobbyist by Edi Rama is Agron Neza.
"For some current and former officials, McGonigal's behavior while he was still working in the bureau is far more egregious than the allegations against him about Deripaska that developed after he retired ," writes CNN.
