Introducing the electric bike that moves on water

Recently, the newest electric bike has been introduced, but what makes it special is the fact that it can be ridden by anyone when it is in the water and moves at a speed of 20 kilometers per hour. Anyone willing to pay $9,000 can have it. It is the Hydrofoiler SLR, which is manufactured by a New Zealand company called Manta5.

Described as “half bicycle, half airplane”, the Hydrofoiler bike works in such a way that the rider must move the pedals giving the bike speed. The moment the required speed is reached, this bike extends its wings that resemble those of an airplane that rest on the surface of the water.

According to the manufacturer, it only takes 40 minutes for any person to learn how to ride this bike, which is being considered as a kind of revolution in this industry. Mark Robotham, CEO of Manta5, said:

"Like improving your skills on a dirt bike, it encourages learning and improvement."

There are three models available; SL3, SL3+ and SL3 Pro – where the base model has a 600Wh lithium-ion battery with a three-hour charge time and the other two have 1000Wh batteries with a five-hour charge time. All models have a total travel time of 4.5 hours, which the designers claim is the longest travel time of any electronic product on the market today.
