A 63-year-old Italian man passed away this morning in Tirana, four days after undergoing an operation at a dental clinic in the capital.

According to a statement from the Tirana Police, on May 22, DS presented himself for treatment at the hospital, as he was not feeling well after dental surgery performed on May 20 at a private clinic on Kosovars' Street.

Despite medical intervention, the 63-year-old passed away in the early hours of this morning. Criminal Investigation Specialists at Police Station No. 2 have launched preliminary investigations, where the clinic's administrator and dentist were questioned.

"On 22.05.2025, the Italian citizen DS, 63 years old, with temporary residence in Tirana, went to the hospital for treatment, as it is suspected that after a surgical intervention on 20.05.2025, at a dental clinic on Kosovars' Street, he did not feel well. The 63-year-old, despite the medical assistance he received, passed away this morning.

"Criminal Investigation Specialists at Police Station No. 2 have conducted the first investigative actions, where they have taken statements from the clinic's administrator and dentist. The materials were referred to the Prosecutor's Office for further evaluation of the case ," the announcement states.
