From the difficulties of parenting to the transition as a person, Angelina Jolie

Angelina Jolie, in an interview for "Vogue" magazine, talked about the separation from Brad Pitt.

The actress has revealed parenting in the midst of her tumultuous divorce from Pitt has kept her alive over the years.

"I was 26 years old when I became a mother. My whole life changed. Having children saved me and taught me to be different in this world," she said.

"I think I would have gone into a much darker way recently if I wanted to live for them. They are better than me because you want your children to be."

Jolie and Pitt, who announced their divorce in 2016 after 12 years together, have six children: Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh and twins: Vivienne and Knox.

The "Girl, Interrupted" star told Vogue that she's feeling a little 'low' at the moment.

"I'm still figuring out who I am at 48 years old. I think I'm in transition as a person," she confessed, adding: "I don't feel like I've been myself for a decade, in a way."

Without sharing too much, Jolie hinted that life has been difficult for the whole family in recent years.

"We had a lot of wounds to heal," she explained. "We are still finding our footing."
