Vucic: I Will Not Recognise Kosovo Within Actual Borders, No Matter What

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic stated on Tuesday evening that he would never recognize an independent Kosovo in its present borders.

“While I am President, I will not recognize the independence of Kosovo. In 10-15 years there will be some other government and a president who will recognize it, but I will not even if they kill me, Vucic said during his 90 minutes-long monologue on the state Radio Television Serbia (RTS).

                Vucic repeated that his compromise idea for the resolution of the Kosovo problem had been rejected, and to the question of what exactly he meant by delimitation, he said – “to establish a just and righteous border between the Serbs and the Albanians”.

“We now have a frozen conflict, and that is the worst situation for us”, Vucic said.

He denied the stories that he would, on 12 June, along with Kosovo President Hashim Thaci, visit Washington for talks which were allegedly organized by the US President Donald Trump.

“I received no such invitation, I know nothing about it”, Vucic said.
