Known as Putin's "spy", the Russian millionaire is found dead

Anton Cherepennikov , 40, a millionaire with ties to the Russian secret services, was found dead in his office.

The cause of death, according to official sources, was cardiac arrest. Cherepennikov's IKS Holding is the largest company in Russia in the field of computer security and so-called 'operational-investigative systems' (wiretapping).

His company serves Russian law enforcement and, according to the Russian newspaper Novaya Gazeta, has been used by the FSB, the federal security services, to conduct wiretapping of civilians across the country.

Cherepennikov's death is the second of a figure linked to Putin's circle within hours. In recent days, billionaire oligarch Igor Kudryakov, a former government official and wealthy businessman, was found dead in his Moscow apartment.
