Besjana Kadare resigns as Albania's ambassador to UNESCO

By a decree signed by Prime Minister Edi Rama, diplomat Besiana Kadare, daughter of writer Ismail Kadare, has been relieved of her duties as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Albania to the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).

The decree dismissing her from office was not accompanied by details about the reasons for the change or the name of the successor.  

Kadare has been part of Albania's representation in one of the most important global institutions supporting culture, heritage and education since October 2021.
