Fiter Bajrami / Muslim believers pray in "Skënderbej" square,

Muslim believers around the world celebrate Eid al-Fitr today, the most important day of the calendar. This morning, thousands of believers filled Skanderbeg Square, where the prayer ceremony took place.

Similar ceremonies have been held in other cities of the country. Muslim believers celebrate the holiday after 30 days of fasting in the holy month of Ramadan.

The name Fitr Bajram comes from the fact that Muslims before the day of Eid distribute alms, show solidarity with the poor, so as to celebrate this holiday together.

In his speech, the chairman of the Albanian Muslim Community, Bujar Spahiu congratulated the believers, while calling for more solidarity for people in need.

He also touched on the war in Ukraine, where he wished peace, emphasizing that the consequences affect innocent people.

"The time in which we live has put us in front of the challenges and difficulties that, most often, face the most vulnerable categories of society such as the elderly, children, the poor, orphans, people with special needs.

To be more committed to parents, the elderly, to be close to orphans. To lend a hand to people with special needs, to care for and show mercy to them. One can not think that there will be joy and pleasure in Eid for those who turn their backs on friends, relatives, the poor and the brother left behind.

Wars and conflicts have re-emerged in various parts of the world. From East to West, the consequences of these conflicts are felt everywhere and they are directly felt by innocent people, children, the elderly, women. "Let us pray to God for peace and prosperity in the world ," he said.
