Meta praises director Dhimitër Anagnosti with the decoration "Gjergj Kastrioti Skënderbeu" on the 85th anniversary of his birth

On the occasion of the 85th anniversary of his birth, the President of the Republic, Ilir Meta, honored with a solemn ceremony the prominent director and filmmaker, Dhimitër Anagnosti with the High Decoration "Gjergj Kastrioti Skënderbeu", with the motivation: "In appreciation of the genius personality, who undeniably dominated with his extraordinary works the history of Albanian cinematography, exalting and representing it with dignity at home and abroad. "With gratitude to the master of film art, who gave Albanian and foreign art lovers his authentic spirit, creating a series of film masterpieces that will shine in every era."

In his greeting speech to the director, his family and colleagues, as well as the personalities of the art present, the President of the Republic said:

" Today I have the special honor to have guests on a special day, on the 85th anniversary of the birth of the 'People's Artist', Dhimitër Anagnosti!

Your name and honorable work, Mr. Anagnosti, as a filmmaker, director, screenwriter and writer, but also as a creative thinker, dedicated with all the dedication of your being to the people and the Homeland, is today an inspiration for all of us.

Your work will also be for future generations, an emblematic metaphor of the history of Albanian cinematographic art, the reference and model of a generation of idealistic and patriotic creators, who do honor to our national art and culture.

Our national culture in general and the art of Albanian cinema in particular, have been lucky to have in their pantheon of honor the name and work of Dhimitër Anagnosti. 

With his contribution, dedication and great talent, Mr. Anagnosti has given us works that have marked the culmination of artistic quality and that have masterfully perpetuated the Albanian man, his life, soul and history.

Your films, although created at a time and in a certain historical context, are not only not hostage to time, but thanks to the vision of your talent, they are always on time, preceded by it.

Through rich film language, they convey universal messages from time to time, always remaining current.

We are here today to honor the 85th anniversary of the birth of Dhimitër Anagnosti, but in fact, by honoring Anagnosti, the honor goes to all those great artists and masters who founded and raised the Albanian film.

Shkon për të gjithë ata punëtorë të palodhur të kulturës tonë kombëtare, që tek emri i Dhimitër Anagnostit, kanë njërin prej përfaqësuesve më dinjitozë, aq sa ashtu si italianët mburren me Felinin e tyre të madh, edhe ne shqiptarët të mburremi me Dhimitër Anagnosti.

Në vlerësim dhe me mirënjohje për veprën tuaj të jashtëzakonshme për kinematografinë shqiptare dhe për gjithë kontributin e shquar, për artin dhe kulturën tonë kombëtar, në ditën tuaj të lindjes, kam kënaqësinë t’ju vlerësoj me dekoratën e lartë ‘Gjergj Kastrioti Skënderbeu’, të shqiptarit më të gjallë ndër shqiptarët e gjallë, të atij personaliteti që përcaktoi shekuj më parë identitetin dhe rrugën europiane të kombit tonë.

On the other hand, Anagnosti said that the work of filmmakers lives in every generation.

" Today is a special day for me. I thank all the people I worked with for years and together we moved to our country and made those film works.
