"I'm waiting for my son to be brought to me", Parashqevi Simaku's confession after the divorce

"I'm waiting for my son to be brought to me", Parashqevi

Considered an icon of Albanian music, Parashqevi Simaku left for the USA in 1991 and has since disappeared from the eyes of the Albanian public.

But, a video of her, initially published by journalist Blendi Fevziu, caused a stir in recent days as many Albanians living in the US offered to help her.

On the Opinion show on TV Klan, Fevziu spoke about this case, revealing Simaku's dreams of going to Hollywood, starting with her departure from Albania to the USA in 1991.

Fevziu also recalled his last meeting in the US with Parashqevi Simaku in 1995.

Blendi Fevziu says he was aware of how Simaku's life had turned out, culminating in her divorce from her Lebanese-American ex-husband.

After the divorce, the American court awarded custody of the son to the ex-husband and not to the Albanian singer. This was the fatal blow for Parashqevi Simaku.

" I didn't want to publish more material. Why? Parashqevi Simaku left for the USA at a dramatic moment in her life. She decided to follow the American dream. It's not easy for anyone. She headed for Hollywood. She married a Lebanese-American, a guitarist. She had a child with him. Her marriage did not go well. There are many details about her divorce, about the legal process she went through. I would not like to give any of this because it is personal information anyway. The court decided that Parashqevi Simaku would not keep the son, but her husband. The loss of her son was traumatic for Parashqevi Simaku. Immediately after losing her son, she lost contact with relatives, contacts with friends, left her home, she could not identify where she was. For 4 years she lived in a Jewish center where homeless people stay. After 4 years she left there. "The last address showed him in Los Angeles,"  Fevziu said.

The journalist emphasized that the ex-husband does not accept any calls regarding Parashqevi Simaku. While the latter, according to Fevziu, has stated that she is "waiting for the boy."

"For 10 years, she has been sleeping wherever she can, on the streets, train stations, in different areas, where many Albanians have identified her. Some of them and her friends would occasionally meet her to give her something. She had made that decision as her own choice, not as an impossibility. Many people had gone to offer her help and she had refused. She had decided to take this life in a moment of trauma due to the loss of her child. The only word she has repeated to everyone is 'I am waiting for them to bring me my son'. Her story is about a decision she had made in her life ," Blendi Fevziu emphasized.
