A serious accident occurred around 04:00 on the Naples-Canosa highway, in the Avellino area, in the direction of Naples, where one person lost his life and 14 others were injured.

Italian media reports that a bus with 38 tourist passengers went off the road after two vehicles traveling in front of it collided, and the bus driver tried to swerve.

The bus was headed to Rome when it found itself behind two cars, which collided. The bus driver turned to the left to avoid the collision, but went off the road. Three other cars, which were following the bus, ended up hitting the cars stopped in the middle of the road.

"All the passengers were asleep. What woke us up was the hard braking and then the crash when we collided with cars before ending up on the cliff," said one of the bus passengers.
