22-year-old Albanian sentenced to life in prison for brutal murder of compatriot

A fight between two Albanian compatriots ended in tragedy on February 4 this year in the Southgate area of northeast London. Kozma Papa, 22, stabbed Bledi Petraj, 37, to death after a dispute that had started earlier in a cafe.

According to court documents, 45 minutes after the initial altercation, the two met again in another area of London, each armed with large knives. During the confrontation, the victim lost control of his knife, which was then retrieved by Kozma Papa. The prosecution said that after Petraj fell to the ground, Papa stabbed him 13 times in a vicious manner.

Bledi Petraj was found alive by emergency teams, but died a few hours later in hospital due to serious injuries.

British authorities arrested Kozma Papa while he was trying to leave London by car. During the arrest, he admitted to the crime he committed. For this serious act, Kozma Papa has been sentenced to life imprisonment.

The event has caused deep concern in the Albanian community in Britain, while authorities continue to appeal for the avoidance of violence and the use of cold weapons.
