Accused of corruption, former crime boss in Elbasan sentenced to 2 years and 4

The former head of the investigation in the Elbasan Police, Leopard Palushi, was sentenced by the Special Court to 2 years and 4 months in prison on charges of corruption.

Leonard Palushi is accused of having received a "Benz" vehicle from Erion Alibej in exchange for diverting the investigation into the murder of Emiliano Ramazan.

Palushi was arrested during SPAK's "Golden Bullet" operation on May 19 of last year.

According to the file prepared by SPAK, the defendant Leonard Palushi, who was effective in Elbasan, when he held the position of Chief of the Crime Investigation Sector, in 2020, created reports with the most investigated Erjon Alibej and received indirectly from his irregular benefit.

Afterwards, he continued to carry out actions related to his duties as a police officer in support of Erjon Alibej.

INVESTIGATIONS FOR "BENZ".

The SPAK special prosecutor's office tracked down the "Benz C300" with gasoline, which Erjon Alibej gave to the specialist in the investigation of serious crimes in Elbasan, Leonard Palushi. The donation of this "Benz C300" was made on June 23, 2020, just one month before Emiljano Ramazani or "Ili" was killed in Elbasan and after 7 days Regis Runaj was killed. These two people were on the list of opponents, to be purged by Alibej and Nuredin Dumani.

The vehicle in the photo was donated in exchange for the services that Palushi would provide to Alibej, giving wrong information to his superiors in order to enter into open conflict between the two criminal groups. The first to speak about the donation of a vehicle, but without specifying the type, was the associate of the prosecution, Nuredin Dumani.

The latter, in his confession, affirmed to the prosecutors that Erjon Alibej, before committing the murder of Ramazan and Runaj, gave a car to Leonard Palushi, as a sign of gratitude and as a continuation of the help he would give him, for cover criminal events.
