Drug trafficker Moisi Habilaj has escaped.

The court of Catania had decided for Habilaj "house arrest, but he was not found in his apartment at the address he had given in Ragusa, Italy.

The Court of Appeal of Catania finally sentenced Moisi Habilaj to 15 years and 5 months in prison.

He has been declared wanted by the Italian authorities. In May 2020, the Court of Appeal of Catania released Moisi Habilaj from prison. Habilaj, also known as the cousin of former Albanian Interior Minister Saimir Tahiri, was arrested in October 2017.
