After 15 years, justice has brought to light facts that bring to justice the perpetrators of the sensational murder of businessman Vajdin Lamaj.

SPAK charges Emiliano Shullazi, Lulzim Berisha, his brother-in-law, Plarent Dervishaj, Indrit Taulla, L. Reci and Viktor Ymeri (Imeraj), after the reopening of the investigation from the testimony of the penitent Luftar Reçi, responsible for the mafia assassination near the stadium "Qemal Stafa" in Tirana 15 years ago.

But who was Vajdin Lamaj and how was he executed?

Lamaj, at that time the President of the Boxing Federation and Vice President of "TOP Albania Radio" was killed as a result of an assassination attempt with explosives in the building where he lived, near the stadium "Qemal Stafa".

His friend Artan Arsi, who was with him at the time of the remote-controlled explosion in the elevator, also lost his life due to the explosion.

Lamaj had escaped a few months before the event with another assassination attempt in the center of Tirana, where two people were injured.

On October 15, 2004, Lamaj escaped the bullets while appearing on a guest television show on one of the capital's televisions.

Vajdin Lamaj has had a rich career in the police structures, having also held leading positions. For several years he also led the Albanian Boxing Federation, while in his youth he was an athlete in the sport of wrestling.

Today a community of 9 thousand inhabitants in the administrative unit Domje, has its own gymnasium named "Vajdin Lamaj", as it had contributed to the restoration of the building.
