Traffic in the Llogara tunnel is closed from today. 

The Albanian Road Authority has announced that the Llogara Tunnel in Vlora will be closed in order to complete all the necessary works for the full delivery of this project. 

"After the end of the summer season, where the opening of the Llogara Tunnel facilitated the circulation of vehicles and shortened the travel time as it was announced from the beginning, we inform you that:
The Llogara Tunnel, starting from 05.11.2024, will to be closed in order to complete all the works necessary for the full delivery of this project.
We ask for the understanding of the drivers and residents of the area" , writes ARRSH on social networks. 

The Llogara tunnel shortens the access time to the south of the country by about 45 minutes. Although built with taxpayers' money, without any form of private financing, PPP or concession, this tunnel will be toll-free from next year. Although whether or not it should be paid is open to discussion, the biggest absurdity comes at the point when you learn the figure of how much Albanians will have to pay from next summer.
