Clashes over the Albanian language in the Republic of Macedonia, another protest announced in Tirana

Clashes over the Albanian language in the Republic of Macedonia, another protest

A protest in support of Albanian students in North Macedonia will be held on Tuesday in Tirana, following tensions over the use of the Albanian language in the bar exam and recent protests in Skopje.

The protest was announced by activist Mevlan Ademi through a reaction on social media, where he called for mobilization and support for the demands of Albanian students.

"Our voice will not stop, just as our uncompromising demand for the implementation of the Constitution and the Law on the Use of Languages will not stop either. On May 26, we will gather in Tirana, after that in Pristina, and then, together as the 'uneducated' we are called, we will return to Skopje again, this time before the Government that arrogantly violates our rights. We will not retreat. We will not remain silent. The Albanian language is not negotiable,"  Ademi writes.

The reactions came after the debate created in North Macedonia over the use of the Albanian language in university exams, an issue that has prompted protests and reactions from students, activists and representatives of the Albanian community in the country.
