Piskovë, Përmet, 'suffocate' by smoke, Shehu: Minister signs

Democratic Party MP Tritan Shehu has denounced an environmental crime that is taking place in the Përmet, Këlcyra and Piskovë areas. Shehu writes that urban waste is being burned with the permission of the authorities.

In his Facebook post, Shehu published photos from the burning of waste that are choking Piskovo, Përmet with smoke and turning the Vjosa River into a garbage dump.

" Piskovo, Permet, are suffocating from the smoke of waste, which also fills the Vjosa... Meanwhile, the deputy-minister of the environment signs a permit for environmentally destructive waste collection, in completely unsuitable spaces!"

Residents have been protesting for years, but the institutions, the prosecution, and the police remain silent under pressure from Lubisa and the regime.

Although everything there is beyond standards... A nearby stream carries waste into the Vjosa River when it rains. When the stream dries up, they deliberately burn it, and the toxic smoke covers Piskovo and all the way to Kelcyra and Permet.

This is the best way, because that way, those funds programmed for waste transport are "transported" directly into the pockets of the Lubis there. Meanwhile, residents get sick, livestock decreases, agriculture is reduced... Vjosa turns into a garbage dump, in addition to sewage. Only the Lubis, who sign and extort everything, "bloat"!"
