After Jakup Krasniqi and Hashim Thaçi, today the former chairman of PDK, Kadri Veseli, appeared before the Hague tribunal.

During today's session, the former KLA leader was acquainted with the charges of war crimes and crimes against the civilian population in Kosovo.

The Hague Tribunal has announced 10 charges which are: “Persecution as a crime against humanity; imprisonment, a crime against humanity; arbitrary detention, war crime; other inhumane acts; cruel treatment, war crime; torture, a crime against humanity; torture as a war crime; murder, crime against humanity; ill-treatment and detention of opponents; elimination of opponents ”.

In his speech after getting acquainted with the indictment, Veseli pleaded not guilty.

"Thank you. I listened to them and read all the points. "Let me declare with full conscience that I am completely innocent in all points of the indictment", said Veseli.

Meanwhile, the lawyer of the former leader of PDK, Ben Emmerson, has emphasized that Veseli came to The Hague voluntarily and that he will seek his trial in freedom.

"Veseli should be presumed innocent for all charges and for all purposes. The court will receive a request that Mr. Veseli be released. I wanted it to be noted that although the fact that Veseli was arrested is mentioned, you as a judge should know "Veseli came here to the Court on the basis of an agreement to come voluntarily and his submission was made through a lawyer, " Emmerson said.

Recall that the first hearings for former KLA leaders are just to get acquainted with the indictment. They do not judge or make any decisions.

After Thaçi, Krasniqi and Veseli, tomorrow it is Selimi's turn to appear before the tribunal after being charged with war crimes during the war in Kosovo.
