Belgrade University Professor Raises Alarm: Serbia Wants to Take Kosovo by Force

Law professor at the University of Belgrade and a well-known critic of Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić, Ivan Videnović, has raised the alarm about the deepening influence of the Serbian Orthodox Church in state politics and about Serbia's dangerous proximity to Russia.

In a public reaction, Videnović sharply criticized the recent meeting between Serbian Patriarch Porfirije and Russian President Vladimir Putin, which took place in the Kremlin.

He described this as a sign of the Serbian Orthodox Church's direct involvement in the country's geopolitical orientation, to the detriment of relations with the European Union.

He commented on some recently published images showing:

Image showing the Map of Kosovo. " Let's take Kosovo by force and end the beginning of the genocide."

Serbian soldiers with the "Z" symbol - used by Russian forces in the war in Ukraine - holding flags with religious iconography and nationalist slogans.

According to Videnović, Vučić's Serbia is taking the country away from the path towards the European Union, orienting it towards a religious-nationalist project with support from Russia.
