6 ways to cope with the heat at night

You've all experienced what it's like to be uncomfortable in bed on hot summer days. Now that we're almost halfway through June, it's time to get back to tips for beating the heat.

Below are some tips on how to prepare for better sleep during hot nights:

Drink iced chamomile tea – The heat makes you reach for a cold beer to cool down, but alcohol is definitely not recommended. What you should do is drink iced chamomile tea to quench your thirst. Chamomile is also very good for sleep.

Don't eat sweets - You may want to cool off with some ice cream, but it will only make it harder for you to digest after dinner, which will make it harder for you to sleep.

Drink as much water as possible – Not drinking enough water during the summer will make you feel tired all the time and will also affect the comfort of your sleep. So make sure to drink as much water as possible up to 30 minutes before going to bed.

Do some stretching before bed – this will help you release the stress of the day and tension from your muscles throughout your body. This will certainly help you sleep better.

Take a cold shower – When you can't get comfortable in the heat, go into the bathroom and take a cold shower before lying down again.

Turn on the air conditioners – You may think that opening the window is the best way to cool the room, but opening it lets in dust and various insects that can ruin your comfort. It is best to turn on the climate control and air conditioners for cooling.
