The President of the United States, Donald Trump, has decorated his special envoy for the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue, Richard Grenell, with the National Security Medal.

The announcement was made by Ambassador Grenell through a post on the social network Instagram.

"It was a great honor, especially because it came from Donald Trump who used diplomacy to bring peace to the world. "He did not start new wars, he brought American troops home, he built the US military and he still signed peace agreements ," Grenell wrote.

Ambassador Richard Grenell was honored for his extraordinary contribution that enabled the historic signing of the normalization of economic relations between Serbia and Kosovo. "Under this agreement, Serbia and Kosovo restored direct air, rail and highway connections, key infrastructure projects needed to facilitate economic growth and the timely transfer of goods and people," Trump said in his decision.

Grenell was appointed Special Envoy for the Kosovo-Serbia Dialogue in October 2019, while serving as US Ambassador to Germany.
