SPAK has officially indicted the mayor of Vau i Dejës, Kristian Shkreli, on charges of "election corruption", as he is suspected of being involved in buying votes in favor of the Social Democratic Party.

The case against Shkreli is expected to be submitted for evaluation to the Special Court, where the prosecution's request will be reviewed by Judge Flora Hajredinaj.

The investigation against the mayor began several months ago, and in May, by decision of the Criminal Investigation Division, his mobile phone was seized and his home was searched.

According to sources close to the prosecution, SPAK has also seized the mobile phones of several other representatives of the Social Democratic Party, who are suspected of involvement in the same vote-buying case in the Shkodra region.
