The Albanian team ready for the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games

This Friday at 19:30 the opening ceremony of the 33rd Olympic Games in modern history takes place in Paris. The Albanian team will be represented by eight athletes, as the athletes Luiza Gega and Franko Burraj will be absent from the opening ceremony, joining the team only on July 29.

The boys and girls in red and black look ready in Paris, as they are on their way to participate in the opening ceremony that will be special.

Representatives of Albania

Four are qualified athletes in this tournament, with the big hope being in athletics and wrestling. Athlete Luiza Gega will compete in the 3000 m hurdles, while freestyle wrestlers Zelimkhan Abakarov (weight 57 kg), Islam Dudaev (weight up to 65 kg) and Chermen Valiev (weight 74 kg) have expectations.

Meanwhile, 4 other sportsmen have ensured their participation by invitation. They are Franko Burraj in athletics 100 m, Manjola Konini in shooting, in the disciplines 25 m pistol and 10 m air pistol, as well as swimmers Kaltra Meça 200 m freestyle and Grisi Konxhaku 100 m freestyle.

Calendar of red and black athletes

The Reds start the activity on July 27 with the shooter Manjola Konini, to continue with the other dates. The focus will be on August 4 at 10:30 in the morning, when Luiza Gega will compete on the track. Even on August 8, 9 and 10, a good performance is required from our three wrestlers.
