Wanted for two murders, Albanian Roland Cretu arrested in Slovenia

Roland Cretu, 41, has been arrested in Slovenia on charges of involvement in two murders in Italy and Slovenia. Italian media reported that Cretu, who uses several false identities and has Romanian surnames, is also a former member of the Armed Forces in Albania.

On October 27, in Saronno, Varesa (Italy), he is suspected of executing a homeless Ukrainian man, Vadym Usatyi, 46, with two bullets. Investigations revealed that the victim had been in conflict with Cretun for banal reasons, following a clash with the family of his ex-girlfriend. After the murder, Cretu fled to Switzerland, disappearing for several weeks.

In December 2024, Roland Cretu was arrested in Lurjana (Slovenia) along with two other people, Dino Muzaferovic (39 years old), a Montenegrin known as "Caesar" and part of the mafia clan "Škaljari", as well as a Slovenian citizen, Jako Bergant (22 years old). They are accused of murdering Satko Zovko (Kekic), a protected justice witness who had provided information to the Balkan mafia groups "Kavaç" and "Škaljari".

The victim, Zovko, was executed on November 29 in Lousjana when the perpetrators came forward and shot him in his vehicle after leaving a casino. Slovenian police discovered a GPS device installed in the victim's car, which led investigators to name the perpetrators.

Cretu and his associates are currently under investigation for involvement in criminal activities of international mafia organizations and are expected to face justice in Slovenia and Italy.
